Adoption Attachment & Parenting– adoptionattachment.com – Attachment parenting is responsive parenting. It is a tool that some parents use, which makes them more sensitive to the needs of their children. Its purpose is to create a strong bond between the mother/father and the child in order to have a less fussy baby with a happier disposition and parents who are more sensitive. Several people often disregard this form of parenting, as they have a misconception when it comes to the practice or purpose itself. Several parents have a hard time coming to terms with the fact that attachment parenting and attachment disorder are not synonymous. There are several ways in which parents can choose to attach or bond with their child. The following are a few: Sleeping in the same room or bed with the baby. Parents take the time to make note of their babies' cry cues and respond to them, rather than let their child "cry it out." Breastfeeding 'off schedule,' i.e., breastfeeding a child when he/she is ready to be fed rather than having the child on a feeding schedule. Spending more time with the baby; hence, avoiding baby sitters as much as possible. Wearing the baby in a sling or baby carrier; the former is more preferable.
